Hi, my name is Anis Nadhilah bt Abd Rahaman. On 19th September 1994 at Kampung Gajah Mati I was born . I have two siblings, a sister and a little brother. My sister is 21 years old while my little brother is 4 years old. My father, Abd Rahaman b Mat Rejab,59 years old works as a farmer while my mother , Siti Roihanah bt Awang,45 years old is a primary school teacher . My family is not classified as rich but we are always happy with our life .However, I was determined to change our life to a better life.
About my education background, I received my formal primary education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendang, Kedah from year 2001 since I sat my UPSR in year 2006 . My UPSR is quite reasonable which I only got 4A’s and 1B . Then I just continued my secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pendang which is just 4 kilometers from my house . In 2009, I sat my PMR and I got 7A and 1B .Then I was placed in a good science-stream class in Form 4 and Form 5 because in my school, there were only a few students who passed PMR with flying colours. . Since Form 4, I always scored 7A’s to 9A’s in every test.My mid-year examination is result was also flamboyant which I obtained 9A’s and only three students got straight A’s at the moment, two Chinese and one Malay, well it’s me . And for my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, praise to Allah, I got sparkling result of 4A+’s and 5A’s . Now it is proven that my academic performance are consistent and quite good eventhough I studied at day school and considered as rural .
My parents were so happy and proud of me because I was the only one who succeeded with flying colours among my family members. This is because I have three nieces who sat for SPM 2011 too. In Pendang, there were only a few students who got straight A’s, so I think I have brought honor to my parents . ‘Failed once does not mean failure forever’ but this need hard work and big forbearances to stay in front.
At school , I was among hundreds of bright students. Since I was in primary school, I had been in the co-curriculum.I have taken part in poetry competitions and become the champion at the state level . I also playing netball and badminton
In secondary school I was far better and more active in the Association of Unit Cadet United Malaysia (PKBM). I have learned to drill from Form 1 and when Form 2 I had joined the PKBM camping at state level. I was among the youngest cadet between them . I got a lot of unforgettable experiences in my life when participating in the camp . I learnt to be more disciplined, organized and obeyed . Up to Form 5 I still involved in the most challenging camp in my school because we are under Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja(RAMD). I took part in shooting sports, navigation ,marching and cross the barrier. I have won the champion in shooting competition at state level while second runner for marching, navigation and across the barrier at state level too. I also participated in Larian Serentak 1Murid 1Sukan 1Malaysia 2011 at national level . In addition, I had taken part in district level chess tournament in form 4 and 5. I got first place at the school level. Not only that, I also entered balloon car contest organised by the Mathematics Society at my school and got the second place for the Furthest Balloon Car. I am one volunteer of Toyota Eco Youth Programme too.
I am very optimistic and good at managing, it turned out when I was appointed as the chairman of ‘Rukun Negara Club’ at my school . Besides that, I was awarded the rank of corporal in my PKBM. I also participated in bowling and always joined their training. I was awarded as a vice secretary. I am also a good prefect from Form 1 to Form 3 . Proven, although I was extremely busy in many aspects throughout the years, I was still can manage my schedule systematically and coped with stress excellently until I gained huge success all around.
My academic plan is to try my best get a sponsor for me to do my medical course because I am not from a rich family which mean my father can't support my full education fee of becoming a doctor. It is really expensive for my family and we can’t afford it . That’s why I need MARA scholarship to futher my studies and achieve my dreamed ambition. I wish one day I will be able to enter the IUMC , Ireland . I choose Ireland because they have ranked university .As I know we need to do preparation at Kolej MARA Banting for the first two years. After that, with god’s will, I want to do medical course in IUMC Ireland for 5 years. I really hope I can.
I prefer to study overseas because I think the idea of traveling to different cultures, people and religion from us just to gain .I get to widen my horizon, open my mind a little bit, and be more independent.
Why I want to be a doctor ? First of all, I really have passion in human body.I am so curious about how people can suffer from hypertension, diabetes mellitus, stroke and many other diseases which surround me everyday.
Therefore, I am very interested to learn about the organs, the bones structures, the hormonal activities and also the body mechanisms. It makes me feel closer to the mighty Creator instead of just stunned by the miracles of our bodies. Being a doctor is such a noble job. The earning is profitable too. But yet, the thing I seek the most by being a doctor is the pleasure to treat sick people and I love to help people those in need.
For my future career when I finished my studies, I will work with the government hospital for 3 to 5 years as a doctor. At the same time, I want to gain experiences as much as I can about the profession. After that, I could proceed further into becoming a cardiac specialist.
Then, when I had finished all my study levels, I would like to open my own clinic. I sincerely hope that my profound passion for the medical field will enable me to be given a chance to take up this course. I hope my ambition to be a doctor will achieve as I have been in the right path with MARA scholarship to continue my study.
As a potential student when you give the opportunity, I will strive to be a tremendous asset to MARA by devoting all my time and life to becoming an excellent medical student. As a conclusion, I am very interested in medical field and I am going to try my best to achieve my dream. Becoming one of the MARA’s scholarships holder would be one of the greatest reward for my life as I can fulfill my parents’ dream and I could ease their burden .
